1) Lots of people live on Hamilton Island who don’t work there. It has a school and a church. Most owners are older people who have either retired there or may be working part time but we definitely live there as opposed to just working there. Also Hamilton Ilsand has Hamilton Island Yacht week held every year in August. Yes the yachts may compete in the Sydney Hobart race but Race Week is as big in its own right.
